Homework Schedule:

Calming Exercises (NOTE:  ROTATE "SIT ON THE DOG" AND "LONG PLACE" ON ALTERNATE DAYS):

  1. (CHANGE) Sit On The Dog 30 + minutes Goal:  To get your dog to lie down on their own steam in five minutes or under.  Week 2 Change:  Practice this exercise with YouTube audio of the sounds that trigger your dog. BTW THIS VIDEO IS OF PIGEON DOING THIS WITH NATURE NOISES.  SHE IS NOT DISTRACTED BUT THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT I MEAN FOR YOU TO DO WITH HOOT.

  2. (CHANGE) Long Place 30 minutes Goal:  Just to get your dog started to get used to staying on the place.  If your dog manages to step off, you do not need to reset the exercise.  Week 2 Change:  While working inside, drop the leash and sit across the room from your dog or as far as you can without leaving your dog's sight line.  BTW THE VIDEO IS OF HENRY BECAUSE I DON'T THINK WE PRACTICED THIS OR IF WE DID, I DID NOT GET A VIDEO OF IT.

Obedience Exercises:
  1. (CHANGED) Lured Heel Step 2  5-10 minutes  Goal:  To get three sessions of 4 patterns (heel and sit) in a row.  Week 2 Change: This week, you are holding the treat behind your back and presenting it when your dog sits.  You can also use the treat to lure him just at the sit for better position.

  2. (SAME) Attention to Name  5 minutes or less  Goal:  To get three sets of four in a row without needing to repeat your dog's name after 10 seconds.  NOTE: WORK ALONE AND TOGETHER WITH HEEL AND POSSIBLY SIT. THIS IS A VIDEO OF ME DISTRACTING A PUPPY NAMED CASCO AS HIS OWNER PRACTICES "ATTENTION TO NAME" OR "LOOK." THEN THERE IS CUTTER PRACTICING LOOK IN HEEL POSITION AKA "FUSS'.

  3. (CHANGE) Let's Go  10 minutes or less  Goal:  To get three sets of four in a row without needing to repeat or tug the leash.  Week 3 Change:  Work this command outside on the long line.

  4. (CHANGE) Sits with correction if needed5-15 minutes. Goal:  To get three sets of 4 in a row sits without needing to correct verbally (marker word "No") or give a collar correction.  Also, eventually, reach the goal in 5 minutes or less.   Week 2 Change:  Work your dog outside now with your goal in mind.

  5. (CHANGED) Circle Sit Stays 10 minutes or less Goal: To eventually get four in a row sit stays for 1 minuteWeek 3 Change:  Drop leash and widen circle inside.   For instance, circle the entire room while your dog is in a sit-stay.

  6. (SAME) Send to Place 7+minutes Goal:  To get your dog to step on themselves for times in a row for 3 setsWeek 2 Change:  Send your dog from further away.  Start at about 2 feet and see where you can get to this week.  Do not rush it, though.  Be sure the performance is where it needs to be before adding more distance.

  7. (CHANGED) Circle Place 10 minutes or less Goal:  To eventually get 4 in a row without needing correction for 1 minute.  Week 3 Change:  Drop leash and widen circle when working inside.
